Legal and support

The fine print, kept plain.

Last updated: July 7, 2026. These terms cover Red Thread Studio and the website at findredthreads.com, including Ariadne, Asterion, Daedalus, and Thalia. We tried to keep this readable. If a signed agreement for a 1:1 engagement ever conflicts with this page, that agreement controls.

Terms of service

By creating an account or using the tools and services on this site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. The site and tools are operated by Katie Brooks, doing business as Red Thread Studio ("we", "us").

What we provide

We offer career-positioning tools (Ariadne, Asterion, Daedalus, and Thalia) and, separately, 1:1 engagements. The tools share a single cross-tool profile tied to your account, which they read from and write to so your results improve the more you use them (see the Privacy Policy for what it stores and how to clear it). The tools help you draft and sharpen your own resume and positioning. They are aids, not a guarantee of any hiring outcome.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login secure. Provide accurate information, and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

AI-assisted outputs (please read)

Our tools use an AI model to help generate drafts (rewritten bullets, summaries, cover letters, and similar). These outputs are suggestions. They can contain mistakes or inferences, so you must review, edit, and verify everything before you rely on it or send it to an employer. You are responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of what you submit. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or any specific result, and nothing here is career, legal, or employment advice.

Your content and ownership

You keep ownership of the material you put in (your resume, stories, and answers) and of the final documents you produce. You grant us a license to store and process that material, and the profile derived from it, in order to provide and improve the Service (including sending it to our model provider to generate your outputs). We do not sell your content, and we do not publish it.

Cross-tool profile

To improve your results, our tools build and store a single profile tied to your account, shared across Ariadne, Asterion, Daedalus, and Thalia, as described in the Privacy Policy. The profile is built from your tool interactions (what you type, correct, and confirm) and the tools' inferences, not from free-text entries you author into it directly. You stay in control: in your account settings, the "Your cross-tool profile" section lets you review everything saved and use "Clear my whole profile" at any time. You remain responsible for reviewing every output before you use it. If a tool gets something wrong, use the correction box on that tool's output screen so the tool carries the right version forward.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use the tools for anyone other than yourself without permission.
  • Do not resell, scrape, or redistribute the tools or their outputs as a service.
  • Do not attempt to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the site.
  • Do not submit unlawful content or use the site for unlawful purposes.

Payments

Prices are shown at checkout. Ariadne is a one-time purchase for one positioned resume, yours to keep. Asterion is sold as a monthly subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe, we never see or store your full card number. See the Refund policy below.

Disclaimers and liability

The site and tools are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the site is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. You can stop using the site at any time, and you can request deletion of your account using "Request account deletion" in settings or by emailing support@findredthreads.com (see Privacy).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Privacy policy

This explains what we collect, why, who processes it, and the choices you have. Questions or requests go to support@findredthreads.com.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email and name, via Supabase (including if you sign in with Google).
  • Content you provide: your resume, job descriptions, stories, and answers you type into the tools.
  • Your cross-tool profile: as you use Ariadne, Asterion, Daedalus, and Thalia, we build a single saved profile tied to your account (your skills, experience, the way your work is framed, the roles you are targeting, your preferences, contact links, and the stories behind your projects), shared across all four tools and derived from what you provide and what the tools infer. See "Your cross-tool profile" below.
  • Payment details: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation and limited details (such as the last four digits), never your full card number.
  • Email list: if you request the free guide, your email is added to our MailerLite list. You can unsubscribe anytime.
  • Technical and security data: IP address and similar logs, plus security signals from hCaptcha and Cloudflare to prevent abuse.
  • Product usage (only if you opt in): if you accept all cookies, we record which pages you visit and which steps of a tool you reach, so we can see where people get stuck. This is the shape of what you did, never the contents: no resume text, no job description, no generated output, no screen or keystroke recording. See the Cookie policy below.

Your cross-tool profile

Our four tools (Ariadne, Asterion, Daedalus, and Thalia) share a single profile tied to your account. It is on by default. There is no opt-in checkbox: this section is how we disclose it. The point is simple: the more you use any one tool, the smarter all of them get about your work, because they read from and write to the same profile.

What's stored. The profile is a saved set of facts derived from your interactions with the tools: your skills, your career stories, the way your work is framed, the roles you are targeting, your preferences, and contact links you provide. It is built from what you type, correct, and confirm while using the tools, plus what the tools reasonably infer from those inputs. You cannot type claims directly into the profile.

How we use it. Only to sharpen your outputs and personalize future runs across the suite. It is tied to your account, it shapes only your results, and it does not inform anyone else's experience.

Ariadne specifically. When you run an Ariadne session, we retain your resume inputs, the career details excavated during the session, and the outputs delivered to you (resume, cover letter, and positioning document). These may be reviewed by Katie to provide support and to improve the service.

Retention and deletion. We keep your profile until you delete it. You are in control: in your account settings, the "Your cross-tool profile" section lets you review everything saved and use "Clear my whole profile" at any time. To remove your account and all of your data, use "Request account deletion" in settings, or email support@findredthreads.com, and we will delete your account, saved work, and personal data and confirm when it is done. This is how you exercise your access and deletion rights under laws like the GDPR and CCPA.

Never sold or shared. We do not sell your profile, and we do not share it with third parties for their own use. It is used only to improve Red Thread Studio's own services.

AI processing. To generate your outputs, the relevant content (including your profile) is sent to our AI model provider, Anthropic, acting as our subprocessor under their commercial API. Per their terms, your content is not used to train their models.

How we use it

  • To run your account, the tools, and payments.
  • To generate your outputs (see AI processing below).
  • To personalize and improve your results across the tools using your cross-tool profile.
  • To send the free guide and, if you opted in, occasional updates.
  • To keep the site secure and prevent abuse, and to meet legal obligations.

AI processing

To generate your drafts, the content you provide is sent to our AI model provider (currently Anthropic) and processed to produce your outputs. We use their commercial API, under which, per their terms, your content is not used to train their models. Your cross-tool profile is also part of the content sent to the provider when we generate your outputs, so the result reflects what we already know about your work.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers that help us run the site, each acting on our instructions: Supabase (accounts and data), Stripe (payments), MailerLite (email), Anthropic (AI processing), hCaptcha and Cloudflare (security and hosting), and, only if you opt in to all cookies, PostHog (product analytics). We may also disclose information if required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account. Inputs to the tools are kept while your access is active and pruned after it expires; generated outputs may be kept so you can return to them. Your cross-tool profile is kept while your account is active. You can clear it any time in settings ("Clear my whole profile"), and it is deleted when you delete your account. We keep payment records as required for tax and accounting.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and (under US state laws like the CCPA) to know what we collect and to opt out of any "sale" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email support@findredthreads.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. For your cross-tool profile specifically, you can act directly in your account settings at any time: the "Your cross-tool profile" section lets you review everything saved and use "Clear my whole profile."

Security, children, and location

We protect data in transit and restrict access to your own records. The site is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data. We operate in the United States; if you use the site from elsewhere, your data is processed in the US.

Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We keep our use minimal.

What we use

  • Strictly necessary (always on): the Supabase session cookie that keeps you signed in, security checks from hCaptcha and Cloudflare, and Stripe cookies during checkout. The site cannot work without these, so they do not require consent.
  • Analytics (cookieless, always on): we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see basic, aggregate traffic, such as page views and where visitors came from. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not identify you as an individual, so it needs no consent.
  • Product analytics (off until you opt in): if you accept all cookies, we use PostHog to understand how our tools are actually used, such as which steps people complete and where they get stuck. It sets a first-party cookie shared across findredthreads.com and our tool subdomains so one visit reads as one person rather than five strangers. We send it only the shape of what happened: a page path, a step name, a score, how long something took. We never send it the contents of your resume, your job description, or anything a tool wrote for you, and we do not record your screen or your keystrokes. If you keep only the necessary cookies, it never loads at all.

We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking of any kind, whatever you choose.

Your choices

When you first visit, we ask whether to accept all cookies or keep only the necessary ones. Necessary cookies are the default if you decline. You can change your choice at any time:

Refund policy

We want you to feel good about what you bought. Because the tools deliver digital outputs, our policy depends on whether you have generated anything yet.

  • Ariadne (one positioned resume): fully refundable any time before you reach your finished resume. Email us within 14 days of purchase and, as long as you have not yet reached your finished resume, we refund in full. Once your resume is delivered, the purchase is non-refundable, since the output you bought has been delivered. We still read every note, so reach out if your situation is not clear-cut.
  • Resume templates ($9.99 each): instant digital downloads, so they are non-refundable once purchased. The file is yours the moment you buy. If something is genuinely wrong, like a broken file or a double charge, email us and we will make it right.
  • Asterion ($29/month subscription): a monthly subscription that you can cancel any time in one click, which stops the next renewal. We do not charge for renewals after you cancel. Mid-cycle refunds of an already-charged month are handled case by case, so email us if something went wrong.
  • 1:1 engagements: covered by the separate agreement for that engagement.

To request a refund, email support@findredthreads.com with your account email and what you bought.
